Question about the movie One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest?

because he would have lived his life a lifeless vegetable. he wouldn't be himself anymore. I think the moral would be maybe so people would know how people were treating in those hospitals and how they did experiments and messed up things to people thinking they were really doing good.
