Please!! due tomorrow can someone explain me a question on one flew over the Cuckoo's nest?

we are reading one flew over the Cuckoo's nest and today my teacher assigned us a question based on the first couple of chapters the question was what fog are you in? Apparently the fog in the book is a symbol for a lack of insight and an escape from reality, for chief bromden. could anyone explain me the question? Thanks a lot
